Providing care to adolescents can be challenging because teenagers are often struggling to make decisions on their own. They are in the transition between being children and adults and often do not want advice. We provide comprehensive, primary care for adolescents ages 12 to 21. Some 10 and 11 year olds are treated if developmentally mature. Adolescent medicine or hebiatrics is a medical subspecialty that focuses on care of patients who are in the adolescent period of development, generally ranging from the last years of elementary school until graduation from high school (some doctors in this subspecialty treat young adults attending college at area clinics, in the subfield of college health). Patients have generally entered puberty. In developed nations, the period of adolescence is extended both by an earlier start, as onset of puberty. is beginning earlier, and a later end, requiring more years of education or training before economic independence from parents.
II. Young Adolescent Care
This stage is the time of growth and change. Between the ages of ten to fourteen, children begin to go through puberty. Puberty marks the beginning of adolescence and is the period of time when males and females become physically able to reproduce.
In this stage, there are developmental changes in puberty such as physical, mental, emotional and social. Young people also have different traits and personalities. This maybe physical, mental, social, emotional and personality which is the combination of the way we act, think and feel.
When becoming an adolescent there are lots of changes you will have an dip voice, hairs on your armpits and pimple occurs. When having a pimple or acne you should prevent this. The three basic food groups are the energy giving food, body building foods, and body regulating foods. In energy giving foods these give you body carbohydrates and fats . Examples are Rice, bread, pasta, and oil. In body building foods these give you nutrients for building strong bones and teeth. Foods in this group are a major source of protein. Examples include meat,fish,egg, and milk. In body regulating foods these have a lot of vitamins, minerals, water, and fiber. Fruits and vegetables belong to this group.
